HÀ NỘI — The National Volleyball Championship’s first round this year is scheduled from April 10-21, the event’s organising board announced on Wednesday.
Group A matches will take place in the northern province of Hải Dương’s Gymnasium, while Group B matches will be held in Gia Lâm District’s Gymnasium in Hà Nội.
The tournament will see the participation of 10 male teams, including Biên Phòng, Long An, Thể Công and HCM City, and 10 female teams representing Hải Dương, Vietinbank, VTV Bình Điền Long An and Makado Thái Bình.
The winners and runners-up in each group will earn tickets to compete in the Hùng Vương Cup to be held in the northern province of Phú Thọ from April 24-27.
The second round of the championship will be organized from December 25-28.
The event will have a total prize of VNĐ432 million (US$18,780). The best players will be selected for the national team to partake in international matches. — VNS
