Việt Nam reports 250 new cases on Thursday

The amount of COVID-19 cases in Việt Nam has topped 8,000.

HÀ NỘI — The amount of COVID-19 cases in Việt Nam has topped 8,000.

On Thursday evening, 91 new cases were detected, bringing the amount of COVID-19 cases to 8,063. During the day there were a total of 250 new cases recorded, 19 of those were quarantined after arriving in the country.

The new cases were found Kiên Giang (12), Hồ Chí Minh City (3), An Giang (3), Tây Ninh (1).

The 231 cases recorded domestically were in Bắc Giang (145), Bắc Ninh (44), Hồ Chí Minh City (30), Hà Nội (6), Lạng Sơn (3), Long An (2), and Hải Dương (1).

Since the fourth wave of the virus first broke out on April 27, there has been a total of 4,955 new cases.

In 13 provinces nationwide, Yên Bái, Quảng Ngãi, Đồng Nai, Nghệ An, Quảng Ninh, Quảng Nam, Quảng Trị, Thừa Thiên-Huế, Nam Định, Hòa Bình, Tuyên Quang, Phú Thọ and Sơn La, there have been no new cases for two weeks.

To date, there have been 49 COVID-related fatalities.

More 11,733 people received COVID-19 vaccine shots on June 2, raising the number of vaccine doses given to Vietnamese to more than 1.1 million. A total of 31,177 people were fully vaccinated with two shots.

Since April 29, testings have been done one 1,488,279 samples. — VNS
