Two imported cases of COVID-19 were confirmed on Friday evening, raising the total number of infections in Việt Nam to 1,212.

HÀ NỘI — Two imported cases of COVID-19 were confirmed on Friday evening, raising the total number of infections in Việt Nam to 1,212.

Patient 1,211 is a 54-year-old Vietnamese man who returned to the country from Russia via Vân Đồn Airport on October 31 on flight VN5062. He tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 twice, and then the third test was positive. Now he is under treatment at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases No 2 in Hà Nội’s Đông Anh District.

Patient 1,212 is a 50-year-old Vietnamese woman. She returned from France and entered Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport on flight VN5010. She is under treatment at the Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Centre for Diseases Control.

One patient was declared to have recovered from the disease on Friday evening, meaning a total of 1,070 patients have been given the all-clear. — VNS
