HCM CITY — HCM City’s People’s Hospital 115 has got three records recognised by the Asia Book of Records in the fields of medical expertise and technology.
It has been honoured as the first in Việt Nam to successfully perform a brain surgery using a system known as Modus V Synaptive and to achieve Gold status certification in stroke treatment by the European Stroke Organisation.
Dr Chu Tấn Sĩ, head of its neurosurgery department, set the third record by successfully performing a robotically assisted brain operation with assistance from Prof Amin Kassam, vice president of neurosciences at Aurora Health Care in the US.
At a ceremony held on Thursday (May 28) to mark the recognition, the director of the hospital, Phan Văn Báu, said the People’s Hospital 115 consistently adopts advanced medical technologies and sends its doctors to leading global neurology centres to exchange experience and knowledge, resulting in the records.
The recognition clearly underlines the fact that Việt Nam’s healthcare system is capable of adopting state-of-the-art medical technologies, he added. — VNS
