MEKONG DELTA — A mother, daughter and granddaughter were found dead yesterday after being strangled to death at their home in Châu Thành District’s Tam Hiệp Commune in the Mekong Delta province of Tiền Giang, according to police.
The husband and father, Đinh Văn Trung, who had just returned from the hospital where he had visited his mother, found the three in their house.
His wife, Nguyễn Thi Thanh Hoa, 44, his daughter, Đinh Thị Ngọc Ngân, 24, and his granddaughter Phan Ngọc Anh, 5, died from strangulation, police said.
Another daughter, Đinh Thị Ngọc Ánh, 17, was bound hand and foot in the room, but was alive.
Nguyễn Văn Tảo, the deputy director of the police department in the Mekong Delta province of Tiền Giang, said that police examined the scene and discovered through questioning that Ngân’s husband, Nguyễn Đăng Khoa, 31, from Đồng Tháp Province, was a prime suspect in the murders and was still at large.
