THỪA THIÊN-HUẾ  — A Chinese fishing vessel, found in distress off the shore of Phú Lộc District in central Thừa Thiên-Huế Province, was helped to drop anchor in Chân May Port yesterday.

This was announced by the local border guard. The boat, with three fishermen on board, started its journey from Hainan Island and drifted into Vietnamese waters due to the strong wind and waves.

Lê Văn Phương, deputy commander of the local border guard, said the boat intended to seek shelter at Chân Mây Port after encountering bad weather on Monday. It, however, went the wrong way and ran aground in the waters off Phú Lộc District. The guards at the Chân Mây border gate provided food and water to the fishermen and took the ship to Chân Mây Port. — VNS
