HCM CITY – HCM City plans to build two more water supply plants to cope with the shortage of clean water and ensure residents' quality of life.
The Kênh Đông No.2 and Thủ Đức No.4 water plants are expected to provide 250,000 cubic metres and 300,000 cubic metres of water per day, respectively.
Regarding its existing water supply plants, SAWACO regularly carries out repairs and maintenance of the facilities to ensure total water supply of 2.4 million cubic metres per day.
Of that amount, close to two million cubic metres of water serve the daily activities of local people, while the rest is kept as a backup for periods of high demand such as holidays, the dry season or to cope with incidents like plant failures.
Along with investing in the factory system, in recent times this enterprise has also organised activities to improve customer service to create conditions for people to interact with the water industry directly and conveniently.
These are solutions related to smart water supply, application of information technology and management science. Customer policies, processes, and regulations related to customers have also been implemented.
The company also applied tech solutions to the management and operation of the water supply system as well as water quality control.
Many of its subsidiaries piloted the use of smart water meters in Gò Vấp, Bình Tân, Tân Phú, Bình Chánh and Cần Giờ districts to minimise errors in meter reading, the SAWACO leader said.
Aside from its plan to develop the two new plants, SAWACO has rolled out multiple measures and policies to enhance its customer service, including developing a mobile app to take care of its customers.
To expand its water supply and storage system, the company is conducting work on water pipelines spanning District 7, Bình Chánh, Bình Tân districts and clean water storage tanks in Hóc Môn District and Thủ Đức City. – VNS
