QUẢNG NINH — The northern coastal province of Quảng Ninh will hold a ceremony to celebrate its 60th founding anniversary (October 30) this week in Hạ Long City.

The province's 60th anniversary celebration organising board has announced the ceremony will take place at 7:30pm on Saturday at the October 30 Square.

Speaking at a press conference held last week, Deputy Director of the Quảng Ninh Province's Department of Culture and Sports, Nguyễn Thị Thanh Thủy, said that about 10,000 people including 6,000 locals and 4,000 delegates from different sectors will participate in the celebration.

The ceremony to be broadcast live on QTV1 television channel of the Quảng Ninh Provincial Communications Centre will be held solemnly, combined with a military parade and a special art programme featuring the culture, spirit, and will of the people in the "mining region", through 60 years of formation and development.

The art programme will especially include elaborately choreographed performances with musical works written about Quảng Ninh through periods of time and strung together as a "proud melody" about the province and its development.

The unique epic performances, including those of new songs about the province, will focus on recreating the indomitable will of Quảng Ninh people in the construction and development.

Performing at the ceremony will be famous singers and artists born in Quảng Ninh who have been successful in their careers, such as People's Artist Quang Thọ, Ngọc Anh, Tuấn Anh, Thùy Dung, Hoàng Tùng, Tô Minh Thắng, Hồ Quỳnh Hương, and Hoàng Thái.

In addition, the celebration will also attract the participation of 1,000 actors from the Drum Art Troupe of the People's Police Academy and 600 central and local singers and actors, nearly 300 students from Hạ Long University and children from the Children's Cultural Palace.

The programme will take place on the largest ever stage, supported by a modern sound and lighting equipment system and projection technology.

The ceremony will end with a 15-minute high-altitude fireworks art display, at the sea about 300m from the stage area. The fireworks are provided by the provincial Military Command, in coordination with other agencies and units.

Deputy Head of Quảng Ninh Province's Information and Education Commission of the provincial Party Committee, Phạm Thùy Dương, affirmed the event would be an opportunity to reminisce the formation, development, and revolutionary tradition of the Party Committee and people in Quảng Ninh through periods of time during their fighting, building, and protecting the fatherland.

Currently, the Hạ Long City's People's Committee is actively preparing for the celebration by decorating and encouraging locals to build an environmental landscape.

The Department of Culture and Sports has set up teams from October 20 to inspect and review the preparation works at localities.

Meanwhile, the Department of Information and Communications has also closely cooperated with related units to prepare for the event, providing adequate conditions for press agencies and journalists to report about the event.

The 60th establishment anniversary has an important and significant meaning in the economic, political, cultural, and social development of Quảng Ninh Province. It is an opportunity to summarise, acknowledge, evaluate, and affirm the province's outstanding achievements through 60 years of construction and development and its great contributions to the overall development of the country.
