HÀ NỘI — Hoàn Kiếm District announced late on Friday that they will allow in-person dining services in wards that are a medium COVID risk (yellow level).

The five wards where restaurants and diners can reopen starting 12pm Saturday are Phan Chu Trinh, Trần Hưng Đạo, Hàng Trống, Tràng Tiền and Hàng Bạc.

Dining services should not exceed 50 per cent of their capacity, ensure social distancing and be closed by 9pm.

Along with the reopening of in-person dining services, indoor sports services are also allowed but cannot exceed 50 per cent capacity and gather over 30 people at the same time.

Hà Nội recorded 2,791 cases on Saturday, as health officials redirected their focus to treating severe COVID patients.

The city is also trying to curb the spread of COVID, by flexibly suspending in-person dining services and restricting activities and gatherings in localities with a high COVID risk.

Besides the aforementioned five wards of Hoàn Kiếm, restrictions are also lifted for dining services in Tây Hồ, Hai Bà Trưng and Thanh Trì districts, while the remaining wards of Hoàn Kiếm and districts of Cầu Giấy, Hoàng Mai, Long Biên, Nam Từ Liêm, and Thanh Xuân remain high risk, as reported on Friday. — VNS
