HÀ NỘI – The Government Inspectorate of Việt Nam said on Monday the body will launch an inspection into Mỹ Đình National Sports Complex’s land use and public asset management from 2009 to 2018.

According to a recent report by the State Audit Office of Việt Nam, Mỹ Đình National Sports Complex leased land without authorities’ approval.

The complex did not hold auctions or disclose prices for leased spaces, Thanh niên (Young people) newspaper reported.

Some short-term land lease contracts for three months, six months or a year were actually long-term contracts as the complex signed different deals with the same company. This allowed companies to build offices and warehouses on leased land which was incommensurate with contract provisions.

The inspection team has six members and is led by Ngô Đình Long from The Government Inspectorate of Việt Nam. – VNS
