Party chief hosts Chinese chairman

Party General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng suggested Việt Nam and China make greater efforts to implement the common perceptions reached between their senior leaders, maintain regular high-level meetings and discussions, and effectively uphold co-operation mechanisms.

HÀ NỘI – Party General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng suggested Việt Nam and China make greater efforts to implement the common perceptions reached between their senior leaders, maintain regular high-level meetings and discussions, and effectively uphold co-operation mechanisms. 

During his reception yesterday for Zhang Dejiang, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People’s Congress, General Secretary Trọng also proposed the two nations improve the quality and efficiency of investment projects and further boost exchanges and co-operative ties between sectors, localities and people from all walks of life, especially young generations. 

The Party chief also urged the two sides to work together to control differences on the basis of mutual respect for each other’s interests and international law, and maintain peace, stability and the development trend of bilateral relations. 

Zhang informed his host about the results of the newly-ended 6th meeting of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and affirmed that the Chinese Party and Government always attach importance to and will persistently develop good relations with Việt Nam. 

The Chinese leader expressed his wish that the two sides will increase their political trust, share experience, connect development strategies, further promote economic co-operation and boost education and information work to fortify the social foundation for the development of the China-Việt Nam friendship and comprehensive strategic co-operative partnership. – VNS
