HÀ NỘI — The governments of Việt Nam and Myanmar attach importance to preserving and further developing the time-honoured friendship and multi-faceted co-operation between the two countries.
This aims to serve interests of the two countries’ people, co-operation and solidarity of ASEAN, as well as peace, stability and cooperation in the region, said Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc and State Counsellor and Foreign Minister of Myanmar Aung San SuuKyi of Myanmar during their meeting on the sidelines of the 28th and 29th ASEAN Summits and related meetings in Vientiane, Laos, today.
The two sides agreed to continue their co-ordination within the framework of ASEAN and at regional and international forums, promote intra-ASEAN solidarity and its central role, and contribute to peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world at large.
PM Phúc suggested the Myanmar Government create the best possible conditions for Vietnamese businesses in the country, particularly in real estate, banking, telecommunications, aviation, mining, tourism and agriculture.
Stressing the close-knit ties between the two countries, Aung San SuuKyi noted her hope to deepen the relationship.
She informed that Myanmar President HtinKyo will visit Việt Nam to attend the 8th Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Việt Nam (CLMV) Summit and the seventh Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Co-operation Strategy (ACMECS) Summit scheduled for this October in Hà Nội. — VNS
