HÀ NỘI – Former secretary of the Communist Party of Việt Nam’s Central Committee and Deputy Prime Minister, Hoàng Anh, died last Tuesday, aged 104.
Anh was a member of the Party’s 2nd, 3rd and 4th Central Committees. He was also the secretary of the Party’s 2nd and 3rd Central Committees. During his working life, Anh held various high-ranking positions as Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, Minister of Agriculture, chairman of the Central Agriculture Committee and of the Central Sports and Physical Training Committee, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, Deputy Minister of Defence, and deputy of the National Assembly from the 1st to the 7th tenure.
Anh was granted the Gold Star Order, a 75-year Party membership badge, and various noble orders and medals.
For more than 80 years, Anh made considerable contributions to the State and nation’s revolutionary cause, Vietnam News Agency reported.
A State funeral ceremony will be held for Anh today at the National Funeral House in Hà Nội.— VNS
