HCM CITY — The Slovenian Government organised a ceremony to open its consulate in Thủ Đức City in HCM City on June 19.
Renata Cvelbar Bek, general secretary of the country’s Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, said in the last three decades economic and political ties between Slovenia and Việt Nam have been strong.
“Việt Nam is the economy with the most impressive growth in Asia in recent years, and one of the attractive investment destinations in the world.”
Bùi Quang Minh, CEO of Beta Group, who has been appointed honorary consul of the Republic of Slovenia, said he is committed to the development of bilateral ties.
He also vowed to explore investment and business opportunities for businesses in both countries with a focus on areas such as technology, renewable energy, agriculture, health, and education.
Việt Nam and Slovenia established diplomatic relations in June 1994, and since then have been strengthening ties in various areas such as politics, commerce, investment, culture, tourism, and education.
Slovenia is currently Việt Nam's most important economic partner in the Balkans, while Việt Nam is a major trading partner in Southeast Asia for that country. — VNS
