National cải lương festival opens in Long An

Around 1,000 cải lương (reformed opera) performers across the country have participated in the National Cải Lương Festival, which opened in Long An Province’s Tân An City on Saturday night (Nov 5).

Festival educates students on Central Highlands culture

The festival is a way for students to learn more about gongs, one of the most recognised traditional cultural features of the Central Highlands, giving them the tools and the know-how to preserve and promote the nation’s cultural values.

Concert intertwines symphony melodies with folk tunes

A Night of Modern and Classical Music will be led by Polish conductor Wojciech Czepie. It will include a performance of musician Đặng Hữu Phúc’s work, Vũ Điệu Chèo Và Lên Đồng (Dance of chèo and lên đồng), which utilises the folk melodies of chèo and chầu văn.
