Thousands of visitors have visited HCM City’s “Trên Bến Dưới Thuyền” (On the Wharf - In the Boat) floating flower fair, which opened on February 4 at the Bình Đông Wharf in District 8.

The 2024 GENKI! FUKUSHIMA Food Festival is being held at Aeon Mall Tân Phú Celadon in HCM City from today through February 4 to promote the culture and cuisine of and tourism to Fukushima Province in Japan.

For the M'nông people, gongs have become an indispensable cultural feature in the religious life of the nation, a spiritual bridge between humans and gods.

This year's festival, from February 3-19, has attracted the participation of 40 calligraphers who are members of calligraphic clubs and selected from a writing competition to perform at the festival.

With the theme Phong vị Tết xưa Hà Nội (Flavours of Traditional Tết in Hà Nội), the exhibition introduces the custom of wrapping bánh chưng (square cake), enjoying couplets and Vietnamese traditional calligraphy during Tết, and appreciating bonsai, Tết fireworks and Tết market.

Symbolising prosperity, the kumquat tree is selected by most Vietnamese families to adorn their houses during Tết.

HCM City will open the 2024 Bình Điền Spring Flower Market for the upcoming Tết (Lunar New Year) holiday from February 5 at District 8’s Bình Điền Commercial Centre on Nguyễn Văn Linh Avenue (HCM City).

On Kitchen Gods’ Day, the 23rd day of the lunar 12th month, Vietnamese people now release carp rather than nylon bags and other objects on altars as they used to do. The habit-changing has been made thanks to active persuasion by Keep Vietnam Clean, a social enterprise that has done good for the environment.

The Becoming Alice: Through the Metal Tunnel exhibition features the work of 13 artists, and is now on display at the Outpost Art Organisation's gallery.

Entitled Ngọc Sơn – Đêm Huyền Bí (Ngọc Sơn – Mysterious Night), the show took place at the Special National Relics of Hoàn Kiếm Lake and Ngọc Sơn Temple.
