Food gala to tantalise guests on National Day

A cuisine festival to celebrate National Day (September 2) opened at Đà Nẵng’s park of the east Rồng (Dragon) Bridge on August 30, featuring local cuisine, cooking contests and cooking experiences.

ĐÀ NẴNG — A cuisine festival to celebrate National Day (September 2) opened at Đà Nẵng’s park of the east Rồng (Dragon) Bridge on August 30, featuring local cuisine, cooking contests and cooking experiences.

The city’s tourism promotion centre said 20 chefs will join a pancake and chicken rice cooking contest at the festival, bands and dance troupes will perform in a competition on stage from 7.30-9.30pm.

Chefs will teach free cooking skills to visitors at 10 cuisine pavilions, and 200 vouchers are on offer to taste food during the festival.

A 3-D paintings and lantern installation space will open for tourists from 6pm to 9.30pm from August 30 to September 1.

The city’s tourism department also said 158,000 tourists, of which 48,000 are foreigners, have booked tours visiting the city during the National Day vacation (between August 31 to September 3).

It said 47,000 tourists will be staying at hotels and resorts in the city during the three-day vacation.
