KON TUM - The first Cultural Festival of Central Highlands Ethnic Groups with the theme "The Great Central Highlands - The Essence of Convergence" opened on Wednesday (November 29) in Kon Tum Province.
The festival enjoys the participation of five provinces: Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Lâm Đồng, Đắk Nông and Đắk Lắk.
The three-day festival has activities such as: performances and rituals of traditional ethnic cultural activities; local traditional cultural products and cuisine; arts and costume performances of ethnic groups in the Central Highlands.
Nguyễn Thị Hải Nhung, Deputy Head of the Festival Organising Committee, hopes that the festival will bring positive emotions to those who enjoy folk arts and traditional sports, thereby helping to promote these traditional values in the coming time.
The festival aims at preserving and promoting the unique traditional cultural values of ethnic groups while strengthening the spirit of national solidarity in the context of integration and development.
The event will also offer a chance to introduce, promote and honour cultural values of local ethnic groups to both domestic and international friends. - VNS
