HÀ NỘI — Seventeen provinces and cities are displaying fruits and agricultural products at the 'Agricultural Products Week in Hà Nội' which is taking place at Big C Thăng Long supermarket from May 30 to June 3.
This is the first farm produce week held in the capital this year to boost domestic consumption.
Lychees from Bắc Giang, Hưng Yên and Hải Dương provinces; mangoes and plums from Sơn La Province; guava, papayas and aquatic products from Quảng Ninh and Nam Định provinces are among the items on sale.
Deputy Director of the Hà Nội Department of Trade and Industry Trần Thị Phương Lan said the event aims to boost consumption of Vietnamese agricultural products and facilitate co-operation between farmers, processors, Big C and other channels of distribution.
Nguyễn Thị Phương, vice director of Central Retail Corporation, said connecting producers to consumers is central to helping Vietnamese businesses access the international market.
She said the event would help businesses correctly evaluate domestic demands to adjust production plans, adding: “Businesses must not discriminate against foreign markets.” — VNS
