ĐÀ NẴNG — The Việt Nam Post Corporation (VNPost) will build a logistic and e-commerce centre in Đà Nẵng’s Hòa Khánh Expansion Industrial Zone at a cost of VNĐ196 billion (US$8.7 million) in the third quarter of this year.
Chairman of the corporation, Đỗ Ngọc Bình, said it would be VNPost’s largest logistic centre in the central region, allowing them to provide quality services to customers.
The centre, which covers 50,000sq.m in Liên Chiểu District, 20km away from the city’s centre, will help connect the East-West Economic Corridor, National Highway No 1, Đà Nẵng-Quảng Ngãi Expressway and the railway system.
In 2014, VNPost also put into operation its office project on downtown Nguyễn Văn Linh Street at a cost of $9 million.
According to VNPost’s report, the corporation earned VNĐ8.8 trillion ($391 million) in revenue in 2015, of which VNĐ230 billion ($10.2 million) was net profit.
Đà Nẵng aims to become a centre of hi-tech industries, logistics services and tourism in central Việt Nam.
Kerry Logistics Company from Singapore opened its new logistics centre in the city in 2010.
The city has 100 logistics companies, but only five are members of the Việt Nam Logistics Association.
In addition, Đà Nẵng is planning next month to start the second phase of Tiên Sa Port. It will become a logistics centre for banks, forwarders and warehouse services in connection with the Đà Nẵng-Quảng Ngãi Expressway and Đà Nẵng-Cam Lộ Expressway, as well as economic zones and the existing refinery in Quảng Ngãi and proposed ones in Phú Yên and Bình Định. — VNS
