NGHỆ AN — Hoa Sen Group has produced its first zinc–aluminium–magnesium alloy-coated steel coils, branded Hoa Sen mag shield, at its Nghệ An plant, marking a technological breakthrough in Việt Nam’s coated steel sector.
Made from high-grade steel substrate and coated with a precise blend of zinc, aluminium and magnesium using advanced continuous hot-dip technology, Hoa Sen mag shield offers corrosion resistance three to five times higher than conventional galvanised steel, with coating hardness twice as strong. The product maintains both durability and aesthetics in harsh environments, making it suitable for projects of national significance and those meeting international standards.
The magnesium component enables a self-healing mechanism that forms a protective layer on cut edges or drilled holes during installation — a technical advantage over standard coated steel. Hoa Sen mag shield is produced and tested to leading global benchmarks, including JIS, ASTM, BS EN and AS, and carries warranties of up to 50 years depending on location and conditions.
Nguyễn Minh Phúc, Deputy General Director of Hoa Sen Group, said the product represents more than a new launch. “It is a symbol of innovation, commitment to quality and our ambition to elevate Việt Nam’s coated steel industry. We want to deliver the outstanding value of Hoa Sen mag shield to customers at home and abroad, contributing to works that endure over time,” he said.
Beyond its durability, the product offers flexibility in construction, high aesthetics, cost efficiency and environmental benefits, reinforcing Hoa Sen’s position as a leading brand in Việt Nam’s steel industry. — VNS
