HÀ NỘI — Vietjet on September 1 resumed the direct service between Việt Nam's southern metropolis HCM City and Thailand’s northern city Chiang Mai.
The weekly service between the two destinations now operates every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday with a flight time of two hours. Flights depart from HCM City at 11:25 and arrive in Chiang Mai at 13:30. Return flights take off at 14:30 in Chiang Mai and land in HCM City at 16:35.
Tickets for the HCM City – Chiang Mai flights are now available from just US$6 at www.vietjetair.com or Vietjet Air mobile app.
“We are delighted to bring back the only direct service connecting HCM City to Chiang Mai as travel restrictions have been lifted and travel demand is picking up steam,” said Vietjet Vice President Nguyễn Thanh Sơn.
“The nonstop flights are to cater for the mounting travel demand during the year-end season and promote bilateral trade. They come with affordable prices and high quality services, allowing passengers to enjoy best flight experiences."
Vietjet and Thai Vietjet are air carriers with the largest capacity operating between Việt Nam and Thailand, offering direct service from Hà Nội/HCM City/Đà Nẵng to Bangkok and between HCM City and Phuket/Chiang Mai. Vietjet's new Phú Quốc – Bangkok service is expected to launch in October.
Việt Nam and Thailand have lifted all COVID-19-related arrival regulations. From October 2022, Thai Government will increase visa-free stay for tourists from over 50 countries, including Việt Nam, from 30 days to 45 days. — VNS
