Vietnam National Shipping Lines has just begun to operate as a joint stock company and changed its international transaction name to VIETNAM MARITIME CORPORATION (VIMC). As a leading maritime enterprise in Viet Nam, the corporation is in its 25th year of establishment and development.

"Not just a change to the logo"

Vietnam Maritime Corporation also introduces its new logo along with the new transaction name: the blue and white stylised globe logo implying its development to reach the continent and the world (the deep blue refers to the sea and the bright blue refers to the sky).

 

The formation of closed supply chains will play an important role to achieve its sustainable growth goal and actively promote the development of all subsidiaries in the corporation toward making the most of resources to meet future development requirements.

As a leading marine enterprise in Viet Nam, VIMC currently has 35 subsidiaries, manages and operates more than 13,000 metres of wharves (accounting for nearly 30% of the total metres of wharves of the country) including wharves at key ports around the country such as Hai Phong Port, Saigon Port, Da Nang Port, and Quy Nhon Port and Cai Mep - Thi Vai port cluster. The corporation is capable of clearing more than 100 million tons of goods (accounting for more than 20% of the national output). This is really a strength making an unrivaled difference while attracting customers and investors in the long term.

VIMC leaders affirmed that operating as a joint stock company (VIMC) with a new logo is an important step in the corporation’s development, helping to increase resources for VIMC to improve its management system, thus enhancing service quality and increasing competitiveness to ensure sustainable development.

VIMC sets a target to become a reputable and highly competitive enterprise in the region by 2030. The corporation will develop the shipping business toward consolidating container ships and dry cargo ships, dominating the import market and domestic market in addition to entering into the intra-Asian market. Furthermore, the corporation will focus its resources for early completion and putting into operation of deep-water ports with key locations such as Tan Vu and Lach Huyen in the North, improving the capacity of Tien Sa ports in the Central, Hiep Phuoc, Cai Mep - Thi Vai deep sea port cluster in the South of Viet Nam. It will also continue to promote chain services, integrate seaport operations - sea transport - maritime services in package logistics services to increase added value for customers.
