HÀ NỘI — Tourists from Việt Nam now can travel to Istanbul by direct flight from Hà Nội and HCM City.

It takes 10 hours to fly from Hà Nội and 10.5 hours from HCM City to reach Istanbul New Airport.

Once it is completed on October 29, the airport 35km north of the city centre is expected to become the world’s busiest airport, at annual passenger capacity of up to 200 million people.

Ataturk International Airport is the city’s current airport, but is ageing and overloaded. It will eventually be converted into a public park, and all flights will be transferred over to the new airport. — VNS
