Authorities in Hạ Long City plan to develop the ancient floating villages on Hạ Long Bay into a tourism product.
The floating Vung Viêng fishing village in Hạ Long Bay, northeastern Quảng Ninh Province usually hosts about 15,000 visitors each month. During peak periods the number of visitors soars to 21,000.
As many as 1,625 people has engaged in the Hạ Long-Cát Bà Alliance and 109 people have benefited from sustainable management and conservation of the resources with the project’s support.
