Phương, Tuyết win canoeing gold in Hungary

Việt Nam duo Trương Thị Phương and Nguyễn Thị Tuyết passed their Chinese rival to win a gold medal at the International Canoe Federation Women’s Canoe Cup which closed yesterday in Szeged City, Hungary.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam duo Trương Thị Phương and Nguyễn Thị Tuyết passed their Chinese rival to win a gold medal at the International Canoe Federation Women’s Canoe Cup, which closed yesterday in Szeged City, Hungary.

Phương and Tuyết championed in the women junior doubles 200m event with a time of 48.095sec.

Chinese pair Huan Men and Qi Li came in second at 48.595sec. They were followed by Alexsandra Kim and Svetlana Ussova of Kazakhstan with 48.941sec.

In the women individual 200m event, Vietnamese Nguyên Thị Ngân place fourth, timing 50.557sec.

Laurence Vincent-Lapointe of Canada (46.242sec), Orasa Thiangkathok from Thailand (49.826sec) and Spanish Patricia Coco Rohde (49.888sec) took the top three positions, respectively.

Ngân and her teammate Nguyễn Thị Lan were sixth in the women doubles 200m. — VNS
