ĐÀ NẴNG — Kids in age groups of four to 12 years old will compete in a chess tournament for primary and junior secondary schools students in the central city on November 5-12.

The event’s organisers said it’s the first ever tournament for kids to be held at Thành Đạt Chess Training Centre.

Competitors will contest in a round-robin format with seven games as the Swiss League for the championship.

As scheduled, the tournament will be organised every two weeks for regular trainees at the centre and free competitors in the city.

The central city has 12 chess clubs with nearly 200 members, but Chinese Chess is a favourite pass time among local residents. — VNS
