Việt Nam participate in world karate champs

Việt Nam sent seven female martial artists to the World Karate Championships which opened in Linz, Austria yesterday.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam sent seven female martial artists to the World Karate Championships which opened in Linz, Austria yesterday.

The event, which drew 2,000 athletes and coaches from 135 nations, will last until Sunday.

The competition is held in a different city every two years. It was initially riddled with controversy regarding karate stylists and the ruleset.

So far, Việt Nam have won one gold and three silver medals in world events in which they took part. — VNS
