HCM CITY – To make HCM City more attractive to local and foreign travellers, city authorities have decided to build the Sài Gòn Cultural and Tourism Village.

City authorities have approved a plan to adjust a 1/500 plan for development of the combined Tân Thắng Sports Complex and Residential Area in Sơn Kỳ Ward of Tân Phú District.

The plan calls for combining the B2 and B3 blocks into a larger area to develop the Sài Gòn Cultural and Tourism Village, designed to feature the cultural characteristics of the three regions (the north, the central and the south) of Việt Nam.

The project includes areas showing the 300 years of history of Sài Gòn – HCM City, with waterway landscapes featuring river ports docking large numbers of vessels and boats in the Mekong Delta.

The city People’s Committee approved the adjustment and enlargement of the B1 commercial and service area into A4 and A3 areas, into bigger B1-B4 commercial and service areas, to provide better services to residents in the project and surrounding areas.

The city authority also adjusted the height of buildings in the A1 area from 11 to 16 storeys, to reduce construction density, and to save more land for greenery and transportation infrastructure.

The municipal authority has also asked the People’s Committee of Tân Phú District to coordinate with relevant agencies on construction of Bờ Bao Tân Thắng and Lê Trọng Tấn streets.

Tân Phú District People’s Committee was told to map out plans for compensation for site clearance and support for families affected by construction of a new intersection on Lê Trọng Tân and Tân Quý streets.VNS.
