Patient 166 recovers from COVID-19, total recoveries at 220

HÀ NỘI —  A 25-year-old women is the last COVID-19 patient to recover at Ninh Bình Province’s General Hospital, according to an announcement on Monday morning.

She was released on Monday morning and told to self-isolate at home for 14 days. The patient is in a stable condition, with no cough, fever or difficulty breathing, according to doctors.

Patient 166, from Lục Nam District, Bắc Giang Province, was working in Thailand and was quarantined at a local military unit on her return to Việt Nam in March.

On March 26, she was moved to the Infectious Disease Department of Ninh Bình Province’s General Hospital after testing positive.  

After treatment at the hospital, she tested negative four times on April 21, 23, 25 and May 2. She has now made a full recovery.

The patient and her family expressed their deep gratitude and thanks to the doctors and health workers.

The hospital successfully treated nine other COVID-19 patients.

Việt Nam reported no new COVID-19 cases on Monday morning. Of the total 271 cases so far, 220 have recovered, 14 relapsed and there are still no deaths, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control announced at 6am. — VNS
