Border guards discover heroin traffickers

THỪA THIÊN-HUẾ — Three men have been caught transporting heroin in Viêt Nam.

The trio were arrested with almost five kilograms of the drug, the largest amount ever seized by border guards in Thừa Thiên-Huế Province.

They are Phan Văn Bá, 44, from Đà Nẵng central city, Lê Kim Huân, 30, from Đà Nẵng central city and Phạm Đăng Huy, 39, from Bình Thuận southern province.

The traffickers were caught at about 1.30pm on Sunday at the Lập An Lagoon in Lăng Cô Town, Phú Lộc District when they were stopped in their car. The drugs were discovered hidden in the vehicle.

Meanwhile, a woman has been arrested with more than 5,000 ecstasy tablets.

Cà Thị Hương, 33, from Thuận Châu District was arrested in Sơn La City, Sơn La Province on Sunday.

She remains in police custody while police continue investigations. — VNS
