KHÁNH HÒA — Two men suspected of robbing a bank in central Khánh Hòa Province have been arrested, said provincial police on Friday.
Trần Hoàng Nhật Tùng, 36, and Đàm Minh Quang, 30, both from the town of Ninh Hòa, traveled to a Vietcombank branch by motorcycle on Wednesday morning. Both covered their faces by air masks.
One of the men entered the bank and threatened customers and members of staff with a gun, before demanding money. The man’s accomplice remained outside during the robbery, threatening passers-by with another gun.
One of the suspects reportedly fired shots at the bank’s security officers.
The two men were apprehended by police while riding a motorcycle on a street in Ninh Hòa on Thursday night. Four homemade guns and ammunition were discovered at the suspects’ house.
The police also seized VNĐ3 billion (US$130,400) taken from the bank. — VNS
