TIỀN GIANG — A knife-wielding man who burst into a kindergarten and held the blade to the neck of a child has been apprehended by Tiền Giang Provincial Police.

Initial reports said he was suspected to be under the influence of drugs when he broke into Tuổi Thần Tiên Kindergarten at around 7am on Friday, grabbing a child and holding a knife to another’s neck. 

Teachers managed to bring other children to safety before calling the police, Phụ nữ (Women) online newspaper reported. 

The suspect was captured at the scene around 9am and was brought back to the police headquarters for further investigation. 

Colonel Nguyễn Văn Nhựt, director of Tiền Giang Police and the provincial People’s Committee Vice Chairman Nguyễn Thành Diệu visited the kindergarten to check on the teachers and children after the incident. — VNS
