Four minor earthquakes reported in a day in central provinces

The earthquakes were classified as natural disaster level 0 with no reported casualties or property damage. However, residents in the mountainous areas of Kon Plông in Kon Tum could clearly feel the ground shaking.

KON TUM — Four earthquakes were reported in Kon Tum and Quảng Ngãi provinces on Tuesday, according to the Institute of Geophysics (IGP)

Among them, three occurred in Kon Tum and one in Quảng Ngãi.

Specifically, at around 2.30 am, an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.6 on the Richter scale occurred in Ba Tơ District, Quảng Ngãi Province.

The second earthquake took place at 8.20 am in Kon Plông District, Kon Tum, with a magnitude of 2.6.

The third earthquake was recorded at 12.28 pm in the same district with a magnitude of 3.3 on the Richter scale, with a focal depth of approximately 8.5 km.

The final earthquake occurred in the district at 8 pm with a magnitude of 3.5 and a focal depth of approximately 8.1 km.

All of the earthquakes have been classified as natural disaster level 0 with no reported casualties or property damage. However, residents in the mountainous areas of Kon Plông in Kon Tum could clearly feel the ground shaking. — VNS
