HCM CITY — HCM City will select contractors this month to conduct a feasibility study report for construction of the Thủ Thiêm 4 bridge.
HCM City Department of Transport recently approved a contractor selection plan for construction of Thủ Thiêm 4 bridge, to be carried out in the form of a public-private partnership (PPP).
The final contractor will be selected in the second quarter of 2023, based on the bidding package.
Thủ Thiêm 4 bridge will cross over the Sài Gòn River, connecting Thủ Thiêm new urban area at the intersection of the North-South Expressway and Line R4 (Delta road) and Tân Thuận Port.
The bridge will have a total of six lanes to relieve traffic pressure from Bình Thạnh and Thủ Đức through districts 7, 8, Bình Chánh and Nhà Bè.
This will create favorable conditions to attract investment and promote the development of the Thủ Thiêm new urban area and the southern new urban area of HCM City.
Total investment capital to build the bridge is estimated at VNĐ5.3 trillion.
HCM City has eight key traffic projects prioritised for construction in the period from 2022 to 2025 when sufficient capital is allocated.
These projects include Thủ Thiêm 4 bridge, Cần Giờ bridge, Nguyễn Khoái bridge and Bình Tiên road bridge. — VNS
