Việt Nam confirms 1,275 new COVID-19 infections on Thursday

A total of 1,275 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health.

 HÀ NỘI — A total of 1,275 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health.

As many as 7,223 COVID-19 patients were given the all-clear on Thursday, bringing the number of recoveries so far to 9,422,085.

The number of recoveries was nearly six times higher than the new infections.

The new infections were reported in 47 out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide with Hà Nội continuing to register the highest number of daily infections with 309 cases.

Other new infections were detected in Vĩnh Phúc (92), Nghệ An (83), Phú Thọ (80), Đà Nẵng (61), Yên Bái (55), Quảng Ninh (52), Nam Định (44), Lào Cai (42), Tuyên Quang (40), TP. Hồ Chí Minh (37), Hải Dương (36), Thái Nguyên (33), Quảng Bình (30), Thái Bình (27), Bắc Kạn (24), Quảng Trị (24), Hà Tĩnh (18), Hà Nam (16), Cao Bằng (15), Hải Phòng (14), Ninh Bình (13), Hòa Bình (13), Lai Châu (13), Hưng Yên (10), An Giang (10), Hà Giang (9), Lâm Đồng (9), Lạng Sơn (8 ), Sơn La (8 ), Tây Ninh (7), Thanh Hóa (7), Bắc Giang (7), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (4), Gia Lai (4), Bình Phước (3), Bình Định (3), Bình Thuận (2), Vĩnh Long (2), Đồng Tháp (2), Kiên Giang (2), Cà Mau (2), Khánh Hòa (1), Bình Dương (1), Thừa Thiên Huế (1), Bến Tre (1), and Hậu Giang (1).

The national tally is now 10,714,008.

There are 169 patients needing support breathing. No deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours, meaning fatalities remained at 43,078, accounting for 0.4 per cent of total infections.

Over the last seven days, Việt Nam reported on average one death relating to COVID-19 daily. 

By Wednesday, the country had administered 220,141,209 doses of COVID-19 vaccines, including nearly 3.95 million doses for children from five to under 12 years old. — VNS
