Iranian Parliament Speaker starts Việt Nam visit

Speaker of the Parliament of Iran Ali Ardeshir Larijani has arrived in Việt Nam for an official visit at the invitation of National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân.

HÀ NỘI — Speaker of the Parliament of Iran Ali Ardeshir Larijani has arrived in Việt Nam for an official visit at the invitation of National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân.

Dr. Larijani graduated in mathematics and computer science in 1980 and later received a Master’s Degree and Doctorate in Western Philosophy from the University of Tehran. He has contributed an active and effective role in the Iranian Islamic Revolution and assumed many key responsibilities after the revolution’s victory.

After the establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1979, he was appointed many key positions at the state agencies. Between 1984 and 1993, he provided vital support to the eight-year divine defence between Iraq and Iran.

Dr. Larijani plays a key role in advancing the political process of the Iran nuclear deal between Iran and six world powers. He will be in the country until April 18.

Việt Nam and Iran set up diplomatic ties on August 4, 1973. Since then, the two countries have continuously enhanced bilateral co-operation in all fields and supported each other at global multilateral forums. — VNS
