HÀ NỘI — The National Assembly (NA) yesterday relieved Trương Quang Nghĩa from the post of Minister of Transport and Phan Văn Sáu from the post of Government Inspector General.

The dismissals, part of the NA’s ongoing fourth session, was approved by secret ballot.

Up to 94.7 per cent, or 465, of the NA deputies voted in favour of relieving Trương Quang Nghĩa, while 94.3 per cent, or 463, of lawmakers supported relieving Phan Văn Sáu.

NA Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân said the two officials made efforts to fulfill their assigned duties in the posts they served. She expressed her hope that in their new positions, Trương Quang Nghĩa, now Secretary of the Đà Nẵng municipal Party Committee, and Phan Văn Sáu, now Secretary of the Mekong Delta province of Sóc Trăng’s Party Committee, will continue to help local authorities and people successfully perform their responsibilities.

After that, Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc proposed that the NA choose Secretary of the Sóc Trăng Party Committee Nguyễn Văn Thể as the new Minister of Transport, and Secretary of the Bạc Liêu provincial Party Committee Lê Minh Khái as chief of the Government Inspectorate.
