HÀ NỘI — A fusion concert featuring traditional music and beatboxing entitled Nam Nhi (Macho) by singer Ngô Hồng Quang, beatboxer Trung Bảo and a string quintet will be held at L’Espace on June 30, at 8pm.
The concert is a unique combination of musical pieces written by Quang for traditional instruments and some of the quan họ (love duet singing) tracks from his latest album.
Quang will perform solo, in duo, and with a string quintet consisting of two violins, a viola, a cello, and a contrabass.
Quang, in collaboration with beatboxer Bảo will bring the audience to a musical trance that is purely Vietnamese – familiar yet strange, old yet new, spanning from the mountainous northern regions to the Red River Delta.
