SƠN LA — Việt Nam's first glass suspension bridge will open to visitors in Sơn La Province on Thursday. 

The bridge is located near the scenic Dải Yếm Waterfall in the tourist destination Mộc Châu .

The floor of the bridge is made of 5cm thick bulletproof glass and can serve from 50 to 70 visitors at a time.

The 22 metre-high bridge uses state-of-the-art 5D technology with more than 50 effects, giving visitors the feeling of walking above flowers, heart shapes and swimming fish, with the sound of glass shattering.

Building the bridge alone costed an estimate of VNĐ32 to 35 billion (US$1.3-1.5 million) while the surrounding structures and facilities costed another VNĐ5 billion ($214,000).
