Khánh Hòa attracts tourists with range of exciting events

KHÁNH HÒA — The south-central coastal province of Khánh Hòa will organise a range of festivals and tourism, sports, cultural events in an effort to bolster the province’s tourism brand and attract tourists during the summer travel season.

The Nha Trang Beach Tourism Festival that will take place from June 13 to 16 in Nha Trang City is one of major events that is expected to draw a large number of visitors during this summer, according to the provincial Department of Tourism.

The event will feature 200 stalls to introduce tourism products, cuisine, and specialty products to visitors.

Within the framework of the festival, various music performances, tourism and sports activities will be held, including a hip-hop dance competition ‘Hipfest Summer 2024’, bikini fashion show, performances of traditional musical instruments, bartender performance, a cyclo parade, and Harley Davidson motor parade.

The festival is expected to attract more than 400,000 locals and foreign tourists.

The Nha Trang International Light Bay Festival, the country’s first drone light show competition, will take place from July 13 to 20 in Nha Trang city.

The event themed “Brilliant Galaxy” will feature two nights of competition with the participation of four teams from the Republic of Korea, China, France and the UAE.

Two teams from the Republic of Korea and China will compete in the first night on July 13, and the second night on July 20 will see the competition between two teams from France and the UAE.

During the summer, Nha Trang will also host many sports tournaments such as the National Club Sailing Championship, the National Libera Fun Fest 2024 running tournament, the National Table-tennis Championship, and the National Youth Golf Championship.

The coastal province of Khánh Hòa welcomed two million foreign tourists in the first five months of the year, a year-on-year increase of 290 per cent, according to its Department of Tourism.

During the period, around 1.8 million domestic tourists visited the province, up 70 per cent year-on-year.

The Republic of Korea and China are the province’s two largest international tourist markets, followed by Kazakhstan, Thailand and Malaysia.

Tourism revenue surged by 150 per cent during the period to nearly VNĐ20 trillion (US$784 million).

The province has set a target of receiving nine million tourists this year, including three million international visitors. — VNS
