Viet Solutions honours three winners

HÀ NỘI — The Viet Solutions 2020 contest has honoured three technology products and solutions that help drive national digital transformation.

At the awards ceremony held on late Friday by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) and Viettel, the first prize worth VNĐ200 million (US$8,600) was awarded to Mismart, a solution identifying plant health using drones, while the second and third prizes went to a Vietnamese mapping solution, Map4D and a cloud-based web security solution, CyRadar. They will receive prize money of VNĐ100 million and VNĐ50 million.

The contest drew the participation of nearly 350 entrants from Việt Nam and abroad, in the fields of health care, education, finance-banking, agriculture and industrial production, areas all given priority by the Government for digital transformation. The participation number this year increased by 60 per cent from 2019.

Viettel will provide financial support to the three winning participants to take part in a start-up contest in the US and the Mobile World Congress 2021 in Barcelona.

The group will also work with the authors of 22 products to provide their services in Việt Nam and across 10 international markets.

Speaking at the event, Minister of Information and Communications, Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng said Viet Solutions has developed into a global contest with many products from countries strong in IT and digital technologies such as the US, France, South Korea and India.

“Where there are problems, there are solutions. All those who have problems should bring out of their homes for everyone to know. That is the best way to contribute to technology development,” he added.

For his part, Viettel’s acting chairman cum general director Lê Đăng Dũng said as a major technology corporation in Việt Nam with strengths in global market, financial capacity and experienced human resources, Viettel is ready to work with other tech firms to come up with new ideas and translate them into practical solutions.

“Viettel is also ready to support ministries and localities on the way to digital transformation toward building a digital Government, citizentry and society,” he said. — VNS
