Gold prices soar on July 9

The prices of the yellow metal kept soaring in the local market on July 9, reaching VNĐ50.55 million (US$2,195) per tael (1.2 ounces). The prices also went up in the global market.

HÀ NỘI — The prices of the yellow metal kept soaring in the local market on July 9, reaching VNĐ50.55 million (US$2,195) per tael (1.2 ounces). The prices also went up on the global market.

On July 9, the Saigon Gold and Jewelry Company listed each tael of SJC gold at VNĐ50.15 million – VNĐ50.55 million (buying - selling), with another VNĐ200,000 for both buying and selling sides from a day before.

On the same day, Phú Quý Group rated the yellow metal at VNĐ50.15 million – VNĐ50.48 million (buying – selling) while Doji Group listed theirs at VNĐ50.15 million – VNĐ50.45 million (buying – selling). Those prices were up between VNĐ120,000 to VNĐ150,000 from July 8.

Bảo Tín Minh Châu Gold Firm in Hà Nội increased rates by VNĐ150,000 per tael to VNĐ50.03 million and VNĐ50.58 million (buying – selling) compared to July 8’s rates.

Though the gold prices were that high, Bảo Tín Minh Châu Gold Firm still recorded higher rates of buyers than sellers at 55 and 45 per cent, respectively.

On July 9, gold prices rose $2.8 to reach $1,810 per ounce ($2,181 per tael) on the gold exchange Kitco. — VNS
