DGW achieves solid growth

Digiworld Corporation has reported business results for the first two months of 2019 with revenues jumping by 29 per cent year-on-year to VNĐ839 billion.

HCM CITY — Digiworld Corporation has reported business results for the first two months of 2019 with revenues jumping by 29 per cent year-on-year to VNĐ839 billion (US$368 million).

Profit after tax was up by nearly 33 per cent to VNĐ16.8 billion ($737,000).

In the laptop and tablets segment, its revenues were up 43 per cent at VNĐ321 billion ($14 million).

Mobile phones sales rose by 17 per cent to VNĐ345 billion ($15 million).

Office equipment saw sales of VNĐ140 billion ($6.1 million), a 24 per cent increase.

Consumer goods sales were up 2.2 times at VNĐ33 billion ($1.4 million) as DGW restructured its product portfolio, sales policies and distribution channels.

At the end of last year it signed a deal with Nestlé to expand the market for medical nutrition products.

This was a driver of growth in 2019, the company said.

Digiworld targets profit after tax of VNĐ137 billion ($6 million) on revenues of VNĐ7.15 trillion ($314 million) this year, respectively 25 per cent and 20 per cent up.

The company, established in 1997, is the authorised distributor of more than 30 global technology brands and has a distribution network of 16,000 outlets. — VNS
