HÀ NỘI — The White paper: “Việt Nam Private Economic Forum – Opportunities, Challenges and Solutions,” was released during a press conference in Hà Nội last Friday. 

The paper details a joint statement and declarations adopted by the 2016 Việt Nam Private Economic Forum, including an analysis of the general context and the viewpoint of businesses about the state of Việt Nam’s private economic sector. 

The report also features major proposals on policies for guiding the digital economy, agriculture, vocational training, distribution and logistics, financial markets and capital mobilisation, the support industry, clean energy and energy savings, as well as recommendations on start-ups and innovations, industrial clusters, integration and globalisation. 

The first Việt Nam private economic forum, held on June 3, attracted more than 700 businesspeople representing seven fields and three economic sectors, representatives from the government and international organisations, domestic and foreign economists, scholars and experts in investment, finance, industry and agriculture. 

According to the organising board, the annual forum aims to maintain a public-private dialogue, becoming a launch pad for promoting connectivity and international cooperation. 

Chairman of the Việt Nam Young Entrepreneurs’ Association (VYEA) Bùi Văn Quân said the forum was expected to become a more important driver of the country’s development and integration amidst ongoing globalisation. 

The conference was co-hosted by the VYEA, the Central Committee of the HCM Communist Youth Union and the Việt Nam Youth Federation. — VNS
