Autumn, when the weather is cooler, is the ideal time to explore exciting and delightful lands through festivals and enjoy the beautiful natural scenery of the Northwestern mountains and forests.
This autumn, the Northwest not only has terraced rice fields stretching along the mountainside, Mông Pê corn wine, Thóc Thanh Kim wine, Tả Van plum wine, buffalo meat hung up in kitchens and Thắng Cố (a dish made from horse meat and its organs), but also a unique Northwest cultural space that awaits you at the Northwest Cuisine Festival 2019 at Sun World Fansipan Legend, Sa Pa.
This is the third time the Northwest Cuisine Festival has been held to honour traditional cultural values, creating a unique entertainment destination for tourists coming.
In addition to introducing the unique cuisine of the Northwest, the Festival also recreates the typical cultural space of this area. Traditional music, dances and cooking rice with sugarcane brings tourists a look at a pure Northwest life, both rustic and attractive.
Northwest Cuisine Festival at Sun World Fansipan Legend takes tourists into the culture of the Northwest region, with colourful costumes, the sound of panpipes, flowers and traditional markets taking place in every Friday and Saturday morning.
Every Saturday and Sunday morning from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the lives of the people through a traditional Dao wedding. Specialty brocades of different colours will be sold out of samu wood stalls.
A series of folk games can be played like pushing sticks, walking through a one-rope bridge, jumping stall or walking on stilts, erasing the gap between the owner and the guests, between the lowlands and the highlands, between the young and the old. Everyone can join in the atmosphere of the jubilant festival.
Visitors to the festival can watch the "Dance in the clouds" – a show full of Northwest colours and meditations on the mysterious cloudy mountain backdrop of Fansipan peak for tourists to enjoy a unique regional experience.
The Northwest Cuisine Festival 2019 lasts until September 10, making a "small Northwest in Sa Pa." It is not only a special cultural event honouring and introducing Northwest culinary culture to domestic and foreign visitors, but will also contribute to promoting Lào Cai Province tourism and providing rich experiences to visitors.
