A variety of cherry blossom types from Việt Nam, Japan and China’s Kunming are blooming in the area surrounding Fansipan cable car station.
Along the 1.5-km long Nguyễn Chí Thanh Street, leading to the Sun World Fansipan Legend tourist area, hundreds of cherry blossom are in bloom. During the Tết (Lunar New Year 2019) holiday, cherry blossoms began to bloom, but it was not until this time that the whole cherry blossom forest spectacularly bloomed to paint a picture of northwest beauty.
More than 600 cherry blossom trees are spread along both sides of Nguyễn Chí Thanh Street and the seven-storey terraces around the cable car station, turning Sun World Fansipan Legend into one of the most terrific cherry blossom gardens in Sa Pa.
Various kinds of radiant peach blossoms are also spread around.
White peach blossoms also contribute to the spring scenery at Fansipan. From a distance, the white peach blossoms are like a pure white cloud on the ground in the midst of dreamy pink clouds of cherry blossoms.
One of the most special types is probably the French peach blossom. The charm of this European flower is the burgundy stripe. Under the climate and the sky of Sa Pa, the French peach blossom also bloomed on the occasion of Tết, from December to March of the lunar calendar.
In order to make this gorgeous cherry blossom garden, gardeners and cultivators spend lots of time taking care of these trees. In addition to more than 100 natural peach trees with an average age of 7-10 years, there are also trees from 15-20 years old.
This lunar new year, visitors to Fansipan have a chance to admire Japanese and Kunming cherry blossoms in colours such as light pink, white, pink lotus and red.
“I am really surprised by the many types of peach blossoms here. Just a few years from now, when hundreds of cherry blossoms have matured, visitors can come here to see cherry blossoms instead of going to Japan,” said Ms Thu Liên, a visitor from the northern city of Hải Phòng.
Not only enjoying the peach blossom forest, visitors are also fascinated by the scenery of colourful spring with a number of other types of flowers.
This year, white brassicaceae flowers bloom beautifully on a hill. Looking down from above, the white flowers look like a stream or carpet.
Tulips – flowers of Dutch origin – also contribute to the brilliant spring flower painting in Fansipan.
Visitors to Fansipan can also get into the atmosphere of the Flower Festival and Spring Festival, which last until March 8, 2019. Besides the unique highland cuisine and spring markets on the mountainous area, there is a lot of fun to be had with a series of folk games such as pig racing and walking on stilts and rope bridges.
The spring beauty, scents and sounds of Fansipan are inviting tourists to visit. This spring, visitors can worship Buddha relics on the sacred peak of Fansipan to hope for a peaceful year.
