Westlake Compounds Vietnam celebrated the groundbreaking of a new compounds plant

On August 17, 2022, Westlake Compounds Vietnam had the ground-breaking ceremony for a new compounds plant at Westlake Compounds Vietnam’s existing location at Bien Hoa Industrial Zone II, Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province.

The ground-breaking ceremony was held with representatives from Westlake Global Compounds, Dong Nai Authority, US Ambassador, Customers, Suppliers, Partners and Westlake Compounds Vietnam Employees.

Westlake Compounds Vietnam is a member of Westlake Global Compounds, a global leader for PVC compounds in diverse industries: medical, automotive, construction, consumer goods, and packaging.

Our range of products includes rigid and flexible grades for extrusion, injection, pressing, and roto-moulding: a complete set of possibilities for manufacturers and end-users to answer any specific application.

A foundation of more than 28 years of experience in the PVC compounds field is a solid stepping-stone in helping Westlake Compounds Vietnam make rapid and outstanding development steps. Westlake Compounds Vietnam owns a complete and fully integrated supply chain that brings a lot of value to the customers.

Westlake Compounds Vietnam was established in 1994 and had been growing significantly. To meet the increasing demand of our customers in Vietnam and across Asia-Pacific, Westlake Corporation approved to invest to build a new factory in Westlake Compounds Vietnam’s existing location.

The new plant has best-in-class standards, improved working conditions, and high automation. Westlake Compounds Vietnam focuses on expanding its product portfolio, application and customer base, which drives top-line growth, increasing its product selling points, developing and strengthening its distribution network, and expanding the new export market overseas for PVC Compounds products.

Building a new plant for Westlake Compounds Vietnam is a significant investment and shows the commitment of Westlake Corporation to support our future success. Westlake Compounds Vietnam celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony of the new plant and celebrated Vietnam team who have earned this project due to their commitment to safety and outstanding results.

In phase 1, our new plant will add additional capacity, improve our overall workflow, and refurbish our warehouse and new extension and loading docks while upgrading our operations to high international standards, including safety, automation, and continuous improvement in our working conditions and our environmental impact. 

Westlake Compounds Vietnam will be able to supply high-quality compounds while maintaining our commitment to sustainability without interruption to our current business during the project. 

During the ground-breaking ceremony, Nguyen Ngoc Vinh – General Manager of Westlake Compounds Vietnam, addressed the group of local authorities, the US ambassador, customers, suppliers, partners and employees.

Regarding sustainability, Westlake Compounds Vietnam will improve water management with closed loop chillers, drainage system and energy management with new equipment, and temperature control in the industrial areas with forced ventilation and solar panels.

This is only phase 1, and Westlake Compounds Vietnam will upgrade the existing plant in phase 2, increasing healthcare capacity and making other improvements.

Building a new plant at Westlake Compounds Vietnam’s existing location represents Westlake Corporation’s confidence in Vietnam and South East Asia market and our continuous commitment to investing in this market.
