HÀ NỘI — A Facebook user in the southern province of Bình Phước last week uploaded a minute-long video showing two boys in a drinking contest with a group of adults. The clip, which shows the adults urging the boys to drink glass after glass, went viral on social media, receiving 50,000 hits in four days.   

Though a man’s voice could be heard telling the boys to stop, no one seemed to heed his advice.

The video’s caption was, “Children are like white paper. They turn out to be exactly what adults draw on them.”

Commenters said the action of the grown-ups was seen as  “a disaster for the future” and “destructive to a generation.”

Other comments on the Facebook post pointed out that sales of alcoholic drinks to people under 21 in many other countries is illegal. — VNS
