HCM CITY — Around 300 local enterprises are taking part in the Vietnamese High-Quality Products Fair that opened today in HCM City.
The six-day annual fair has more than 600 booths displaying a wide range of products such as garments and textiles, footwear, handicrafts, food and household products, electrical goods, and others.
One of highlights at the fair is the “Common House” showcasing organic products and “Vietnamese High-Quality Products-Global Integration Standard” certified products about which visitors can check information electronically using their smart phones.
There is “a strange garden” where they can see and touch quaint products made from Bến Tre Province’s coconut trees and fruits and grapefruits, which have been granted geographical indication certificates by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The fair has a “Green-Nice Market” displaying farm produce grown by co-operatives and start-up firms to safe or organic standards.
There are a promotion at 10-10.30am and 4-4.30pm daily in which over 3,000 items will be sold at VNĐ20,000, game shows, a cooking contest, and lucky draws with prizes of tours to Cambodia and destinations in Việt Nam.
This year there will also be seminars on quality standards and the role of geographical indications organised by the Vietnamese High Quality Product Business Association, the Food Safety Management Board of HCM City and the Bến Tre Province People’s Committee.
Vũ Kim Hạnh, chairwoman of the association, the fair organiser, said that a programme to connect businesses with young technology developers would be held on the sidelines, and her association was set to announce a collaboration with the Saigon Innovation Hub to help local small businesses penetrate the global market.
